The GSC hosted its 22nd AML Forum on 31st January 2025, bringing together industry stakeholders and partner agencies. The event featured an insightful presentation, an engaging workshop, and a feedback survey.

The AML Forum is an opportunity for the GSC to interact with stakeholders and receive invaluable feedback on supervision and Outreach. We extend our thanks to everyone who attended, both in-person and remotely.

Topics presented at the forum included:

  • We must keep abreast of emerging typologies;
    • Use of technology – AI Deepfakes, ransomware, cyber fraud operations… all increase year on year.
  • Directors must take accountability for processes;
    • Ensure compliance staff have the resources required to undertake their role effectively.
  • EDD case studies, common issues and best practices to overcome them;
    • Always document steps taken and decisions made, to demonstrate compliance.
  • National Risk Assessment work underway – set to be published in June with Outreach on this topic to come throughout 2025;
  • GSC AML and General Supervision Guidance Split;
    • Following previous feedback from operators at the previous forum.
  • The outreach team is always looking for feedback, so make sure you follow the GSC on LinkedIn and keep up to date with our blog posts.
