7 October 2024: Applications invited for appointment to the Board of the Gambling Supervision Commission
Applications are currently being invited to join the Board of the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission (the Commission) with the new appointments becoming effective early in 2025, subject to the approval of Tynwald.
The role provides an opportunity to work with other Board members and senior directors to set the strategic direction of the Commission and ensure it remains well positioned to support a dynamic and growing gambling industry as well as seeking to develop the medicinal cannabis sector.
The Board oversees the Commission’s work in ensuring that gambling is conducted in a fair and open way, that children and other vulnerable persons are protected from being harmed or exploited by gambling and preventing gambling from being a source of crime or disorder, associated with crime or disorder, or used to support crime.
Applications are encouraged from individuals who can demonstrate a strong track record of professional achievement, ideally in a similar regulated industry and who have the necessary attributes to support the delivery of the Commission’s mandate. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in legal/enforcement matters and/or expertise in anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-financing of terrorism (CFT), however, applications from individuals with relevant skills, knowledge, and experience from any key sector within the Commission’s mandate are also encouraged.
